Recent Emergencies: Asia Quake and Tsunamis The Red Cross Red Crescent Movement is working to provide emergency assistance as well as longer-term support to people in the affected countries How are donations to International Appeals spent? Appeal donations are used in one or more of the following ways: - to fund the deployment of specialist aid workers to the region to assist in the Red Cross/Red Crescent response - to support an Australian Red Cross program in the affected area - to support the work of our Red Cross/Red Crescent partners: the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies; the International Committee of the Red Cross; or another National Red Cross/Red Crescent Society, which could include the Red Cross/Red Crescent Society in the affected country
